Shots of the Week10th June 2016 // Ollie Barnard
It has been a baptism of fire here at Peli U.K HQ, consisting of an image sorting marathon trawling our way through over 6000 pictures of custom foam stored on a filing system befitting of a common hoarder. After cutting through the wasteland of the “M drive” myself and other new recruit Ollie have nearly reached civilisation with nearly all limbs still intact.
But, Pelievers, it is finally that time of week that we anticipate and value above any other. When we flee the rat race and leave work on a Friday evening knowing that glorious moment of salvation is here. Forget about image sorting. Forget about work. Forget about everything except one paradigm of hope… That’s right, it’s Shot Of The Week time.
This week we have had more last minute submissions than an EU referendum sign up form, the only difference being we can handle it. These water-inspired photographs provided sweet relief for Ollie and I, after our journey into the deepest darkest hearts of the M Drive, as well as rekindling my love for the open sea. I’m grabbing my armbands and I am off to Blackpool to make friends with the seagulls in the sea, with a stick of rock in my teeth and love in our hearts, we’ll let the tide be our guide.
