Do Peli cases protect against dust?

Almost every case in the Peli Protector, Storm and Air ranges has an IP (Ingress Protection) rating of 67. The 6 denotes the dust resistance and is the highest possible rating, meaning the case is fully dust-tight.

The 7 refers to water resistance, and means the case has been tested to be fully watertight when submerged in 1 metre of water for a minimum of 30 minutes.

If you want to ensure your case is fully watertight and also dustproof, protecting against dust and other small objects such as sand, look for a case rated IP67.

How are Peli cases dustproof and waterproof?

Peli cases have an o-ring that seals when the case is closed to prevent water and dust entering. The air pressure release valves use innovative technology to prevent vacuum-lock so the cases can be easily open even after changes in altitude, whilst still blocking water molecules and dust particles.
