Hayleigh is originally from Enfield, North London and studying a BA in Photography at Manchester school of art.
Her practice is documentary in a personal and conceptual display, all of which is developed from people who are close, or people she has met who have impacted her life in perhaps little, but significant ways.
Different relationships and encounters with people have inspired Hayleigh throughout, which encourages her to explore portraiture in different ways, sometimes meaning that the portrait is insignificant.
Hayleigh’s work orients around finding the small things in our diverse world to focus on for a split second – environments and events, which we all experience yet, look past.
Hayleigh uses photography as a process whereby past experiences have fueled her project ideas and permeated the body of the work. She allows this to open up different ways of exploring topics, generally working on projects for long periods of time, allowing each part of her work to naturally flow onto the next.
